As we embark on making the 2nd installment of our Bushwick Life mixtape series, the idea came to mind to shoot a video for one of the songs featured on the mixtape as well as our site. Devonte Dudley, affectionately known to us as Drama, has been working very hard with me on making this mixtape hot. It was only right that the first video featured on our site be made with him. Drama has been learning the writing, production and recording side of the music game since the start of the Bushwick Beats program. He works well on Garageband, Reason and is moving to final cut pro to help our vid instructor Alejandra edit our first video this year. The song, “I Roll”, borrows the beat from Drake’s “Headlines”. Last week, Alejandra put together a production crew to help bring the song to life. We would like to thank Juan, Olga, Sasha, Erica, Leydy, Skoota, Dashawn and Brittany for all their help, and Ms Alejandra and Ms Clarissa for all of their support! We are back with more new music! Coming out of Bushwick Campus are some more rising stars who are contributing to our annual mixtape series, Bushwick Life vol2! Repping for the Gossip collective are Marquise Changkit(shadow), Charles Nunez(Shine), and Yung Real. These seniors already have viral content, a growing fanbase, and product in circulation as we speak. They have decided to lend their skills and verses to our project, to stunning results.
